Extras not covered here
Full Design is for a back garden or a front garden. If a client wants both front and back designed this fee will be discussed and tailor-made on a garden by garden basis.
If only a section of a garden requires a design and not the whole space, the Full Design fee will be tailor-made to suit the amount of work involved and the size of the project.
Building costs, supply of labour, materials, soil, plants, waste, equipment, lighting, water features etc are not included in this fee structure and are particular to each project.
Extra sub-contractors such as Tree Surgeon, Plumber, Electrician etc
Payment Scheduling
Client pays the Concept Design Fee on receipt of the Concept Design - usually within 2 weeks of the initial visit
Client pays the Design fee in full on receipt of the Final Full Design
Payment of Build phase is between the builder/contractor and the client. In the case of Marion handling the management of the job phased payments are applied:
- 50% just before starting
- 40% in the middle of the job
- the final 10% on completion
Client pays for Planting Plan, Planting Map, Maintenance Plan on receipt of Plans
Marion’s 3x visits can be invoiced and paid for at the start of the job
Daily rate for planting is charged in bulk as a separate job and invoiced accordingly - the planting phase is treated as a separate job/phase as it is a particularly skilled job. However, large trees, hedging or shrubs may need planting early in the project before the main planting phase and can be planted by the main contractor/builder. In this case Marion will supervise and advise and will charge accordingly. All potential extras will be discussed during the Design phase so the client can get a handle on extra costs, in as practical a method as possible.
Because building and plant costs fluctuate rapidly all Marion’s Estimates stand for 3 months after the date of issue. They also include VAT.
